Paragraph Test - Eighteen

Answer the questions according to the reading passages.
News of another new method in milk production comes from East Stanwood Wash, where Dr. Roy Graves and John Stambaugh are packing whole, fresh, sterilized milk that needs no refrigeration in shipment or in storage. Drawn from the cow into sterilized glass jars, the milk is homogenized under vacuum and "flash sterilized" at 285 degrees for eight seconds. This quick sterilization does not affect the flavor. The milk is then canned, also under vacuum. This whole milk can be kept on open counters or on the pantry self, or packed over trails to mines and camps. Although the process is too new to make definite statements about quality, some of the milk has been found sweet after nine months in the can. Because of higher costs, it is not likely to compete with standard-packaged milk in the home market, but it may fill many needs in areas where fresh milk is scarce. It is already being shipped to Alaska and Japan.
