COMPARISON & SUPERLATIVE FORMS OF ADVERBS (KARŞILAŞTIRMA)
Bir üst dereceye (comperative) karşılaştırma yapmak için tek hecelilerin sonuna “—er”, iki veya daha fazla hecelilerin başına ise “more” getiriyoruz. En üst, veay en alt dereceye (superlative) karşılaştırma yapmak için tek heceli olanların başına "the", sonuna "—est", iki veya daha fazla heceli olanların başına "the most—" getiriyoruz.

“Most” bir zarfla kullanıldığında “the” almadığı zaman “most”= "very" anlamını verir.
More, most ve least, fiilleri nitelemek için de kullanılır.
Like, enjoy gibi beğeni ifade eden fiillerle "daha çok, en çok" anlamında better ve best de kullanabiliriz.
“Hate”, “dread” gibi olumsuz anlam taşıyan fiillerle “better” ve “best” kullanamayız. Bu tür fiillerle more ve most kullanabiliriz.
Bir superlative'in önünde, normalde "the" kullanıldığını görmüştük. Ancak, "his, our, her, this, that" gibi başka bir sözcük kullanılıyorsa "the" kalkar.

Sıfatlarda olduğu gibi zarflarda da "comparative" formun önünde "much", "a lot" (informal), "far", "a bit" (informal) ve "a little" pekiştirici olarak kullanılabilir.
- She cooks far better than I do.
- The footballers played less eagerly this time.
“Most” bir zarfla kullanıldığında “the” almadığı zaman “most”= "very" anlamını verir.
- I object most strongly.
More, most ve least, fiilleri nitelemek için de kullanılır.
- She most fears that she may lose her job some day.
- I more want to have an early night. Erken yatmayı daha çok istiyorum.
- She usually comes when I least need her and doesn't when I need her most.
