SOME IMPORTANT NOTES ON THE USE OF NOUN CLAUSE
1- I don’t think / I can’t think
“I don’t think ….” İfadesi zannetmiyorum anlamında gelir;
“I can’t think” bir neden düşünemiyorum, anlayamıyorum anlamında kullanılır.
2-“Ask, want to know, wonder, be not sure, etc…” gibi fiiller “that” ile değil, daha çok “whether / if” yada “what, where how, when” gibi soru kelimeleri alır.
3-“Tell, understand, explain, know, etc…” gibi filler her üç yapıyı ile kullanılabilir.
(İsim Cümlecikleri)
İngilizce de basit cümlenin yapısal dizilişinin ÖZNE + YÜKLEM + NESNE biçiminde sıralanmış olduğunu biliyoruz. İsim cümlecikleri (Noun Clauses) de, isim olma özeliklerinden dolayı, bu yapının temel öğelerinden olan cümlenin öznesi yada nesnesi gibi kullanılabilir. Bir cümlede daima “NE” sorusuna cevap verir. İsim Cümlecikleri (Noun Clauses) bir cümlede özne yada nesne olarak üç ayrı grupta toplayabiliriz. Bunlar;
A - “That” ile başlayan isim cümleleri
B - “Whether / if” ile başlayan isim cümleleri
C - Soru kelimeleri ile (what / where / how / when, etc) başlayan isim cümleleri
