THE PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE
INTRODUCTION (Giriş)
İçinde bulunduğumuz anda, yada konuşmanın geçtiği anda veya o sıralarda yapmakta olduğumuz işleri ifade etmek istediğimizde bu zamanı kullanırız. Bu zamanın yapısıyla oluşan bir cümlede en yaygın kullanılan Zaman Zarfları (Time Adverbs) aşağıda verilmiştir.

Herhangi bir konunun özetini yaparken, bir deney yaparken, bir filmden, tiyatro oyunundan ya da bir kitaptaki olaylardan bahsederken, bir maçı, tiyatro oyununu ya da bir töreni başkalarına naklederken “the Present Simple Tense” kullanılır. Olayların gidişine göre zaman zaman bu anlatımlar eğer olay daha uzun süreli bir etkinliği ifade ediyorsa “the Present Continuous Tense” ile de yapılabilir.

USAGE (Kullanışı)
Always, continually, constantly, forever, perpetually gibi sıklık ifade eden zarfları (adverbs of frequency) kullanarak istenilmeyen bir durumu, sık sık tekrarlanan eylemleri abartılı olarak ifade etmek, şaşkınlıkları yada yapılmakta olan bir işi eleştirmek istediğimizde Şimdiki Zamanı (The present continuous tense) kullanabiliriz.
· My teacher is always doubting my words

· John constantly repeating the same thing like a parrot.
· I am continually forgetting my students’ name.
· You are constantly panicking. Calm down.

Benzeri düşünceleri, zaman bağlaçlarını kullanarak ta bu zamanı ifade edebiliriz.

İçinde bulunduğumuz anda yapılan işler geçicidir, yani her zaman yapılan bir iş veya hareket gibi algılanmamalı. Eğer bir kişi şu anda yaptığı işin geçici bir şekilde yapıldığını ima etmek istiyorsa bu zamanı kullanır.

Tomorrow, next week, soon, in the Winter, this week gibi gelecek zaman zarflarını kullanarak, daha önceden planlayıp, hazırlığını yaptığımız geleceğe dönük ifadeleri de bu zaman yapısı ile kullanabiliriz.

THE SIMPLE PRESENT or PRESENT CONTINUOUS
Genel olarak pek değişmeyen durumları ifade etmek için “the Present Simple” kullanırız.

Ancak, “the Present Continuous Tense” i içinde bulunduğumuz zaman içinde yada belli bir zaman aralığında geçici olarak yaptığımız işler içinde kullanabiliriz.

Olumsuz cümlelerde yapmak istemediğimiz yada başka kimselerin yapmasına izin vermek istemedigimiz eylemler için the Present Continuous kullanırız.

Konuşma anında yapılmadığı halde belli bir süre için tekrarlanan eylemleri yada geçici alışkanlıkları ifade etmek için the Present Contiuous daha genel yargıları ifade etmek için de “the Present Simple tense” kullanırız.

Find(bulmak) , stop (durmak), begin (başlamak), arrive (varmak), open (açmak) close (kapamak) vs gibi filler aniden olup biten eylemleri ifade eder. Bu eylemler the Present Continuous Tense ile kullanıldığında içinde bulunduğumuz anda meydana gelen olayı ifade etmez, geleceği ifade edebilir.
