Must (Obligation) & Must not (Prohibition) 

Must; çok kuvvetli gereklilik ve zorunluluk, yapılması - mutlaka - gerekli eylem(ler)i anlatır. Bütün öznelerle must kullanılır; main verb (asıl fiil) yalın haldedir.

• We must recycle the garbage. (Biz çöpleri geri dönüşüme sokmalıyız.)
• We must use fan instead of air-conditioning. (Biz klima yerine vantilatör kullanmalıyız.)
• We must prevent global warming. (Biz küresel ısınmayı engellemeliyiz.)
• You must use deodorants less. (Siz daha az deodorant kullanmalısınız.)
• We must protect the animals. (Biz hayvanları korumalıyız.)
• We must keep the environment clean. (Biz çevreyi temiz tutmalıyız.)
• We must grow more trees. (Biz daha çok ağaç yetiştirmeliyiz.)
• We must take shorter showers. (Biz daha kısa (süreli) duşlar almalıyız.)
• We must use public transportation. (Biz toplu taşımayı kullanmalıyız.)
• We must use eco-friendly products. (Biz çevre dostu ürünler kullanmalıyız.)
• We must use our cars less. (Biz otomobillerimizi daha az kullanmalıyız.)
• We use tap water very carefully. (Biz musluk suyunu çok dikkatli kullanmalıyız.)

Must not (Mustn't); yasak(lar) belirtilir veya emir verilirken kullanılır. Örnekleri inceleyiniz.

• We must not waste water. (Biz suları boşuna harcamamalıyız.)
• We must not hunt tigers for their skins. (Biz derileri için kaplanları avlamamalıyız.)
• We must not leave the litter on the ground. (Biz yere çöp bırakmamalıyız.)
• We must not go near places by car. (Biz yakın yerlere otomobille gitmemeliyiz.)
• We must not make a fire in the forest. (Biz ormanda ateş yakmamalıyız.)
• We must not use pesticides on farm. (Biz çiftlikte böcek ilâçları kullanmamalıyız.)
• We must not use water unnecessarily. (Biz suyu gereksiz yere kullanmamalıyız.)
• We must not waste our food. (Biz yiyeceklerimizi israf etmemeliyiz.)
• We must not switch on the lights when we leave. (Biz ayrılırken ışıkları kapatmalıyız.)
• Children must not play with the matches. (Çocuklar kibritlerle oynamamalılar.)
• People must not pollute the soil. (İnsanlar toprağı kirletmemeliler.)
• You must not drink or eat in the classroom. (Sen sınıfta (birşey) yemelisin ve içmemelisin.)
• You must not cycle in the crowded streets. (Sen kalabalık caddelerde bisiklete binmemelisin.)

Have to & Has to

Kişinin yapmak zorunda olduğu, gerekliliği duyduğu eylemi anlatırken, have to veya has to kullanılır. Bu yapı; öznenin - konuşmacının - buna başka kişi(ler) tarafından zorlandığını belirtir. Kişi eylemi yapmaya başka birisi veya çevresi tarafından zorlanmaktadır. Örnekleri inceleyiniz.

• We have to listen to our teachers in the classroom. (Biz sınıfta öğretmenlerimizi dinlemek zorundayız.)
• You are very fat. You have to eat vegetables and fruits. (Sen çok şişmansın. Sen sebze ve meyva yemek zorundasın.)
• They have to have two people to play table tennis. (Onlar masa tenisi oynamak için iki kişi olmak zorundalar.)
• I have to do my homework and study my lessons every day. (Ben her gün ödevimi yapmak ve derslerime çalışmak zorundayım.)
• You have to obey the traffic rules. (Sen trafik kurallarına uymak zorundasın.)
• I have to fasten my seatbelt in my car. (Ben arabamda emniyet kemerimi bağlamak zorundayım.)
• You have to stop at a red light. (Sen kırmızı ışıkta durmak zorundasın.)
• The drivers have to drive carefully and slowly. (Sürücüler dikkatli ve yavaş araba kullanmak zorundalar.)
• The cyclists have to wear their helmets. (Bisikletçiler kasklarını giymek zorundalar.)
• I have to be quiet in the classroom. (Ben sınıfta sessiz olmak zorundayım.)
• If the traffic light is green, you have to cross the street. (Eğer trafik lambası yeşilse, sen caddenin karşısına geçmek zorundasın.)
• If your hands are dirty, you have to wash them. (Eğer ellerin kirliyse, sen onları yıkamak zorandasın.)
• We have to drive on the left in England. (Biz İngiltere'de sol şeritten araba kullanmak zorundayız.)
• The children have to ride their bikes in the park. (Çocuklar bisikletlerine parkta binmek zorundalar.)

I. you, we ve they özneleri ile have to; he, she, it özneleri ile de has to kullanılır. Fiil yalın haldedir. Örnekleri inceleyiniz.

• A soldier has to obey the rules in the army. (Asker ordudaki kurallara uymak zorunda.)
• Robert has to talk to his teachers politely. (Robert öğretmenleriyle kibarca konuşmak zorunda.)
• If it is safe for him, Jack has to cross the street. (Eğer onun için güvenliyse, Jack yolun karşısına geçmeli.)
• My brother has to win this game. (Erkek kardeşim bu maçı kazanmak zorunda.)
• If your mother is too ill, she has to stay in her bed. (Eğer annen çok hasta ise, o yatağında kalmak zorunda.)
• Hülya has to strike the ball with her racket in tennis. (Hülya teniste raketiyle topa vurmak zorunda.)
• Your sister has to use eco-friendly perfumes. (Senin kızkardeşin çevre dostu parfumler kullanmak zorunda.)
• Your maid has to water the flowers and trees regularly. (Senin hizmetçin çiçekleri ve ağaçları düzenli olarak sulamak zorunda.)
• In football each team has to have eleven players. (Futbolda her takımın onbir oyuncusu olmak zorunda.)
• A student has to wear his / her school uniform at school. (Öğrenci okulda okul üniformasını giymek zorunda.)

Olumsuz yapıda'have to'yerine don't have to, has to yerine de'doesn't have to'getirilir. Bu yapı zorunluluk belirtmez. Örnekleri inceleyiniz.

• You don't have to play in the middle of the street. (Sen caddenin ortasında oynamak zorunda değilsin.)
• Orhan doesn't have to cycle in the crowded streets. (Orhan kalabalık sokaklarda bisiklete binmek zorunda değil.)
• They don't have to eat or drink in the classroom. (Onlar sınıfta yemek ve içmek zorunda değiller.)
• We don't have to use top water very carefully. (Biz musluk suyunu çok dikkatli kullanmak zorunda değiliz.)
• A student doesn't wear jeans at school. (Öğrenci okulda kot pantolon giymek zorunda değil.)
• Your parents don't have to support you and your brothers all the time. (Ailen seni ve erkek kardeşlerini her zaman desteklemek zorunda değil.)
• Your mother doesn't have to cook the meals every day. (Annen hergün yemek pişirmek zorunda değil.)
• The guests don't have to wear their ties. (Misafirler kravatlarını takmak zorunda değiller.)
• I don't have to send these letters. (Ben mu mektupları göndermek zorunda değilim.)
• We don't have to study our lessons at weekends. (Biz hafta sonlarında derslerimize çalışmak zorunda değiliz.)
