İngilizce de bazı sıfatlar bir edat alarakta kullanılabilirler. Bu durumda arkalarından isim yada gerund kullanılır. Aşağıda bu grupta yaygı olarak kullanılan sıfatların listesi verilmiştir.

Note:
Tired of. bir şeyden bıkmak, sıkılmak anlamına gelir. (=bored with, fed up with)
Tired from, bir işten dolayı yorulmak anlamındadır.
  • I'm tired of waiting for the bus to come. Let s take a taxi.
  • (Otobüsün gelmesini beklemekten sıkıldım. Taksiye binelim.)
  • I think I in getting old. I'm beginning to feel tired from working so hard.
  • (Sanırım yaşlanmaya başladım. Bu kadar çok çalışmaktan yorgun hissetmeye başlıyorum.)
Good at kullanımına benzer şekilde bad at, hopeless at. brilliant at, quick at. slow at gibi yapılar da kullanabilir.
  • She is quite quick at writing compositions in English but rather slow at speaking.
  • You can rely on that carpenter. He is brilliant at doing his job.
Be / get used to doing (be/get accustomed to doing) ile geçmişteki alışkanlıklarımızı ifade ettiğimiz,
"used to do" kalıbı arasındaki aynına dikkat ediniz.
  • I'm used to drinking coffee as soon as I get up in the morning.
  • (Sabah kalkar kalkmaz kahve içmeye alışkınım.)
  • The job seemed rather difficult to me at first, but later I got used to working there.
  • (İş bana ilk başta oldukça zor geliyordu ama daha sonra orada çalışmaya alıştım.)
  • You will have to get used to doing your chores on your own when you leave your family.
  • (Ailenizden ayrıldığınızda ev işlerinizi kendi başınıza yapmaya alışmanız gerekecek.)
  • She has been used to living alone since her husband's death. 
  • (Kocasının ölümünden beridir yalnız yaşamaya alıştı.)
